The ACCLIMATE Challenge Fund was launched in November 2022, with the objective of providing selected CSOs with technical assistance and financial support for a duration of 2 years to strengthen their organizational capacities, internal systems, and processes and contribute effectively to climate and development work in India.
Pedal for a Change (www.pedalforachange.org), is a Guwahati based nonprofit organisation working towards promotion of Walking, Cycling and Public Transportation as climate change mitigation activities in the North Eastern region of India. They have a dedicated team of people from Academia, Urban and Transport planning, Climate Action, Policy Analysis, Entrepreneurs, Media, Doctors, Engineers, and Event management who Advises, Mentors and voluntarily work towards developing climate resilience and improving sustainable mobility options in the urban areas in North East India.
They are the youngest organisation among the winners of this year, the 2nd organisation from the north eastern region and the only one working in the domain of sustainable transportation.
The members of Pedal for a Change believe that the financial support along with the technical support from the ACCLIMATE challenge fund will help develop their organizational capacities, internal systems, and processes and contribute effectively to climate and development work in India and help become a credible voice in this domain in the region.
