There is a significant increase in the number of international passengers at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati. In the first two months of the New Year, about 8,000 passengers used the airport.
Among them, about 3.7 k were arriving passengers and about 4 thousand were departing passengers of Bangkok. The rest passengers were from Paro & Singapore.
In this context, CAO Utpal Baruah says, “We are marching ahead towards making this airport an international hub towards the East. One day, LGBIA will serve as the Gateway to the airports situated at the South East Asian countries. There will be no U-turn to the East from the Northeast.”
