The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Regional Office, Guwahati, in collaboration with the District Administration of Bajali District, is organizing the “Swachhata Hi Seva 2024” campaign at Hari Mandir Auditorium, Pathsala, Bajali District, on 5th and 6th November 2024 with a vibrant photo exhibition. This event aims to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and public awareness as part of the nation’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Mridul Das, District Commissioner, Bajali District inaugurated the event. Shri. Manoj Barua, Chairman, Assam Agriculture Marketing Board, Govt. of Assam were also present in the programme. The two-day event features an array of activities and services to engage the public in the mission of cleanliness. Many Stalls have been set up by local Self Help Groups, displaying a variety of sustainable and eco-friendly products to encourage community involvement in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation. A special photo exhibition on the theme of “Swachhata” has been set up to highlight the importance of cleanliness through powerful visuals and narratives.
In addition to the stalls, a Free Medical check-up camp including minimal medicine distribution has been organized by the Department of Health to provide basic health services to attendees. There is also an Aadhar card facilitation service on-site, ensuring that locals can access important identity services during the event.
Apart from this, CSC(Common Service Centre) has also been set up for any other required information regarding any government facilities/schemes time to time and also to fill different forms online also facilitated at the CSC Centre. Adding to the event’s vibrancy, various cultural programs, including traditional performances, have been organized. Interactive activities such as a quiz and extempore speech competitions are also part of the event, encouraging the youth to actively participate and express their views on cleanliness and hygiene.
Chandan Bezbarua, BDO, Pathsala, Bajali, Sammujjal Gogoi, Assistant Commissioner, Bajali, Mrs.Jolly Choudhury, Town Commissioner, Pathsala, Bajali, Giridhar Choudhury, President, All Assam Sahitya Sabha, Dilip Roy, Vice Chairman, Town Committee, Pathsala, Bajali, Munindra Narayan Goswami, National Award Winner on Sahitya Award, and Jiten Choudhury, President, the Chamber of Commerce, Pathsala, Bajali were also present in the inaugural programme.
The Swachhata Hi Seva initiative at Pathsala is a significant effort to involve the community in the Swachh Bharat mission, fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards a clean and healthy environment. Earlier in the event, Pre-Publicity was also conducted in collaboration with the Town Committee and Chamber of Commerce in the suburbs of Pathsala town
