A leopard was captured by the Forest Department at Katamur near NIPER campus, Guwahati.
This incident happened after the Forest department got an information that a leopard is roaming near NIPER campus. It was immediately captured by the Forest Department on 18th January. The wild animal was successfully captured only after the fifth attempt. The leopard was later released into its safe habitat on 19th January night.
