Guwahati: In view of the issue of the guidelines for the phased re-opening (Unlock 4.0) by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the Government of Assam in Health & Family Welfare decided that a person, who travels to any location outside Assam and returns back to the State within 96 hours of departure, will not be required to undergo quarantine of 10 days, subject to the fulfilment to few conditions.
The person will have to undergo a Rapid Antigen Test on return at the entry points to Assam. According to the guidelines and as per protocol, if the Rapid Antigen Test results in positive, the person shall undergo home isolation/ treatment in COVID Care Centre or hospital.
If the Rapid Antigen Test result is negative, the person’s swab sample would be taken for RT-PCR testing and he/she will have to remain in isolation till RT-PCR test result is declared, and an undertaking will be submitted by each person to this effect.
The guidelines added, if the RT-PCR test result is positive, the person shall undergo home isolation/ treatment in COVID Care Centre or hospital, as per protocol. However, if the RT-PCR test result is negative, the person need not undergo any further quarantine.
The guidelines mentioned, the person has to strictly comply with hygiene and social distancing norms during the stay outside Assam.
In addition to this, the Assam government has also decided that expenditure up to Rs 5000 will be allowed in each case of death of each COVID positive patient, towards cremation expenses if the relatives do not receive the body or they cannot bear the cremation expenses. National Health Mission, Assam will take care of the funding.
