The COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya continue to rise. Amid the surge, the state government on September 22 had issued guidelines and protocols for returnees and entrants of Meghalaya.
The notification was issued by Sampath Kumar. He is the Commissioner & Secretary in Charge, Health and Family Welfare Department of Meghalaya. People who wish to enter Meghalaya with a plan to stay for 3 days or less must register themselves for COVID ID. They can register at the official website http://www.meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing .htm.
The government notification further adds that those people must possess a valid return ticket. Those intending to travel by road shall mention their vehicle number they shall return in.
A person will be excused from the Rapid Antigen Testing if they possess a COVID-19 Negative RTPCR report. However, the report must be within 72 hours from the time of arrival.
Usually, all persons will have to undergo Rapid Antigen Testing.
Returnees will have to avail accommodation only at certain hotels and guest house, government, or government-run guesthouses. According to the guideline all these hotels, guest houses must have approval by the Government of Meghalaya.
They will have to arrange and book for the same prior to their arrival. They will also have to keep a note of all the places they will visit during their stay. Returnees and entrants must also restrict their movements and must meet as few people as possible.
As per the notification, Aarogya Setu App is a must and will have to the same at entry points. They must arrange for their own transportation with the same vehicle for their movements during the duration of stay.
