The Assam Cricket Association(ACA) on Friday inaugurated the first annual cricket awards at Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was present at the event, along with the president of Assam Cricket Association Romen Dutta and secretary Devajit Saikia.
CM Sonowal presented the awards in the event. The Players were awarded cash prizes for scoring a century, and for taking 5 wickets in an innings and 10 wickets in a match.
Chief Minister tweeted, ” Sports, education, culture- our aim is to make Assam shine in these fields. You keep on playing, spreading the message of peace, harmony, and brotherhood through sports. Glad to present the first Annual Awards of Assam Cricket Association (ACA). I am sure this annual award will further encourage players, coaches, and organizers to do their best.”

The Assam Cricket Association also introduced the ‘Player of the Season Award’, ‘Coach of the Season Awar’, and ‘Promising Player of the Season Award’.
