Legendary cricketer and India’s first world cup winning captain Kapil Dev was hospitalized after he complained of uneasiness.
He led the Indian team to its first-ever world cup in 1983. The cricketer felt unwell on Thursday and was immediately hospitalized at Fortis Escort Hospital in Delhi and has undergone emergency coronary angioplasty.
Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) President, Ashok Malhotra later stated, “He is feeling okay now. I just spoke to his wife. He was feeling uneasy yesterday. He is undergoing check-ups at a hospital as we speak.”
According to a source close to Kapil Dev, “The heart attack was a rumor. He is absolutely fine.” However, the legendary cricketer was wished a speedy recovery by many on social media.
He is considered one of the greatest cricketers in India and represented India in 131 Tests and 225 ODI’s.
