Working President of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) Biswajit Daimary on Wednesday publicized his resignation from the party in Guwahati.
In a resignation letter, the Rajya Sabha MP said that he is resigning from the ‘Working President’ post. He was a member of the party since the formation and now it’s time for him to move on.
Daimary also stated that his aim and purpose to serve the people of the state and country has been from the beginning and will always remain the same. However, he was unable to do so when he was within the BPF party and by resigning he wants to start afresh.
Speaking to media persons the former BPF leader stated, “People are losing their faith from BPF, the present situation at Bodo Territorial Region (BTR) is becoming worse. I cannot work for the welfare of the public staying in the BPF party.”
Daimary also said that he is no longer a ‘Bodo Neta’ rather he will be a National leader and will always work for the betterment of the public.
The Member of Parliament will now join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and will campaign for the party at BTR areas.
Expressing his concern about the future of the people in BTR, the minister remarked, “BPF government will never implement the Bodo Accord if the party comes to power again, I don’t want to be a part of such a party.”
