The health minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that regular classes for schools and colleges in Assam would start from January 1.
“School-colleges will reopen from January 1. Primary schools will also reopen. We have not planned for further lockdown,” Sarma said while asked about the new variant of COVID-19.
Dr Sarma also stated that the COVID-19 situation in the state is under control and the state has been reporting less than 100 cases daily.
“We have not thought about the lockdown. There is nothing to worry about. We have decided to reopen the educational institutes from January 1,” he added.
