Tension soared high in the Assam-Mizoram border on Tuesday evening where a fresh clash erupted between the people of both the states which resulted in several people suffering injuries.
The police say that incident took place in the border area of Kosurtol in the Hailakandi district when when two employees of Mizoram power and electricity department and a member of Bairabi village council who had gone for a survey were allegedly beaten up by some people of Assam when they took some photos.
The clash led to miscreants from the Mizoram side reportedly setting around 20 houses on fire along the border area of Hailakandi leaving at least three people injured.
The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
Police from both the states are present at the site and an investigation is underway.
