In an effort to cleanse the state of unlawful weapons, Assam Police on Friday morning led an operation and recovered a huge cache of illegal arms and ammunition.
The operation was carried out inside Manas National Park led by Chirang Police. During the search operation, the police team successfully recovered two AK series rifles, one M20 Pistol, two AK magazines, and 7.62 mm live ammunition.
Taking to Twitter, ADGP (Law & Order) G P Singh wrote, “Continued offensive against unlawful weapons – On 12.02.2021 morning @chirangpolice recovered two AK Rifles, One M20 Pistol with ammunition from inside Manas National Park located in Amlaiguri village under Panbari PS. @assampolice @DGPAssamPolice @CMOfficeAssam @HMOIndia”
