Renowned Director Sambhu Gupta succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday night.
The noted Assamese film director was admitted to Apollo Hospital at Christian Basti after being tested positive for Covid 19 on May 8.
Later he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on May 10.
Aged 80, the eminent Assamese film director breathed his last on Sunday night at around 11 pm.
Sambhu Gupta directed films like ‘Devi’ and ‘Prem aru Prem’.
Notably, Sambhu Gupta’s daughter and son were also tested positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma condoled the death of the film director.
