Tamulpur MLA Lehoram Boro passed away at Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on Saturday morning due to Covid 19.
The UPPL MLA was tested positive for Covid a few days back.
During his treatment in the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for Covid 19, the MLA suffered a stroke.
Lehoram Boro won the Assam Assembly election 2021 on United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) ticket.
He was also a former Rural Development Department official and elected to the assembly for the first time in 2021.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma taking to Twitter expressed his grief at the sudden demise of the UPPL MLA.
“I deeply mourn the untimely demise of #Tamulpur MLA Leho Ram Boro. He was a dedicated politician and his going away is a big loss for the state.
I pray to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul.” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote in his Twitter.

Former Chief Minister and Majuli MLA Sarbananda Sonowal also expressed his sadness at the sudden demise of Leho Ram Boro.
“I am deeply anguished by the untimely demise of UPPL legislator of Tamulpur, Leho Ram Boro. He will be remembered for his community services.
My heartfelt condolences to his family and well-wishers. May almighty give the family strength to bear the irreparable loss. Om Shanti.” Sarbananda Sonowal wrote on his Twitter page.

Executive Member of the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC), Pranab Boro, also condoled at the sudden demise of the MLA.
“My deepest condolences on the demise of Shrjt. Leho Ram Boro, 1st time winning candidate from UPPL and the MLA from Tamulpur LAC. Today he passed away at GMCH after suffering from COVID-19.
My condolences for his family and well-wishers.” Pranab Boro wrote on his Twitter page.

It also needs to be mentioned that, earlier on May 26, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) MLA from Gossaigaon constituency, Majendra Narzary died of post Covid19 complications.
Majendra Narzary passed away at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).
