Senior IPS officer Anurag Tankha (Assam cadre) passed away on Monday here after a prolonged battle with cancer.
He was on deputation to the Bureau of Police Research and Development as Inspector General (IG).
Anurag Tankha (a 1995 batch officer) was on deputation to National Investigation Agency (NIA) as IG till 2017.
Meanwhile, taking to his official Twitter handle, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma condoled the sudden death of the senior police officer.
