In a joint operation by the Badarpur Police Station team and Border Security Force on Monday seized a consignment of arms including four pistols with four magazines and one pen pistol in the Barak Valley.
After receiving inputs from a high source, Intelligence branch of BSF regarding dealing with the consignment of arms at Badarpur Station Road, a special operation was planned and launched by the BSF intelligence team and Badarpur Police.
According to the information, the dealing of arms was to be carried out near Hanuman Mandir at Badarpur Station Road. At about 11.30 am, the joint operation party of BSF and Badarpur Police noticed some suspected activities of the two persons in front of PNB Bank, Badarpur, Near Hanuman Mandir at Station Road.
Immediately the team held two Indian nationals.
During the search, a black colour bag was found in which four pistols with four magazines and one pen pistol were found.
During the preliminary investigation, the apprehended persons revealed their identities as Nurul Islam (31) of Dhalcherra Lamargram village under Patharkandi PS of Karimganj District and Henow Liang Khiamn (22) of Eheleshang Colony Old Medical- ‘A’ Ward- 9, Tuensang Town in Nagaland.
