The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms and hailstorms in parts of Northeast India in the next 48 hours.
A report by IMD stated that parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will be facing isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorm on Wednesday.
Similar conditions have also been predicted for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland on Wednesday and Thursday.
IMD has also predicted dense fog to blanket these states until Friday. A yellow watch over these states hase been issued by IMD for Wednesday and Thursday.
Reports state that these conditions will be caused by the combination of a western disturbance located over Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir, a cyclonic circulation over central parts of Uttar Pradesh, and a trough running from southwest Madhya Pradesh to south Bihar across north Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
