A leopard was rescued today at Sishugram Red Cross society near IIT Guwahati, Amingaon by Forest officials of Sila Range, North Kamrup Forest Division. It will be released in its safe habitat after observation. No human conflicts took place during the entire operation.
Similarly, prior cases have happened in the state. The Forest department of the state carried out various rescue cases in the state. In July 2021, an adult leopard that fell into a well at Madhab Nagar on the fringe of Garbhanga Reserve Forest on the outskirts of Guwahati was rescued by forest personnel. Similarly, again in the year, a two-year-old female leopard has been rescued from a tea estate under Dibrugarh Range in Assam.
