After a raid conducted at a makeshift godown at Bandarkhal, Cachar district Police seized 2,500 bags of urea.
This raid has been conducted under the Borkholia police station in Assam on Sunday.
There was no record registered of the urea bags stored in the godown and diversion from the government stock is suspected, as per the police sources.
Earlier on February 3, police had seized another four trucks loaded with suspected illegal fertilizers from the Cachar district.
At least nine individuals including eight drivers have been detained by the police and 8,476 bags of fertilizers that were illegally transferred from government stores have been seized since the last week of January.
On Saturday, Assam police announced a bounty for people giving inputs about the burglary of fertilizers to district police or concerned authorities.
