In a high-level meeting on the Ukraine crisis the Foreign Secretary of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla has confirmed that all Indian Nationals have left the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. The Foreign Secretary has also added that he has conveyed to envoys of Russia and Ukraine India’s demand for “urgent sage passage” for all Indian Nationals stuck in Kharkiv and other conflict zones.
“All of our nationals have left Kyiv”, ” The information with us is that we have no more nationals left in Kyiv, nobody has contacted us from there since”, said Harsh Vardhan Shringla, the Foreign Secretary.
“We remain very concerned over the situation in Kharkiv, Sumy and other conflict zones in Ukraine”, added the Foreign Secretary.
It is also noted that, of the remaining about half are in the conflict zones in Kharkiv and the rest have reached or are heading to the Western parts of Ukraine. All of them are considered safe.
Over the next three days a total of 26 flights have been scheduled to bring back Indian citizens. The Aircraft C-17 IAF has flown to Romania at 4 A.M. Airports in Bucharest, Budapest, Poland and Slovak Republic will be used to operate evacuation flights.
