A good news has finally came to the long awaited employees of Paper mills of Nagaon and Cachar, Assam. The Assam Government will take over the Paper Mills at jagirod in Nagaon and Cachar. All the employees are likely to receive salary soon.
The Water Resources, Information and Public relation Minister of Assam Pijush Hazarika who is also the MLA of Jagirod, addressing a press meet has announced the mentioned decision of Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Minister Pijush Hazarika in the press meet said that the mills were gone into NCLT (National Company Law Tribunal). With the help of the industry development the Assam Government has successfully received the paper mills at 375 crores but the liability was 700 crores.
It was noted that in 2020 the Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited (HPCL) had submitted a plea in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) seeking liquidation of the corporation’s two closed paper mills at Jagirod, Nagaon and Cachar in Assam.
