The Chief Minister of Assam Himanta biswa Sarma has recently attended a programme at Matak tea Estate at Lahowal in dibrugarh . During the programme the Government has also distributed ambulances to each tea gardens under Lahowal Legislative Assembly constituency.
“These ambulances will greatly help in meeting any kind of medical emergency by swiftly shifting the patients to hospitals having advanced treatment facilities. The state government has undertaken several development initiatives in fulfilling its commitment for tea garden areas since coming to power,” the chief minister said.
The Government of Assam has also made up few plans to upgrade hospitals in the tea garden areas of Assam. In view to provide advanced and accessible healthcare to the residents of the tea garden area the Government has taken the decision.

The Chief Minister has also stated about the implementation of water supply schemes in each tea garden for providing safe drinking water.
Another plan of the Government is to construct Jagannath Community Centres in all the tea gardens of the state
