Reacting to the definition of indigenous people, Barpeta MP Abdul Khaleque said, “Make it clear first whether Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma himself is indigenous. If those from Kannauj are indigenous, why should those from Meimansingh in India not be considered indigenous”.
Khaleque also demanded that the issue be resolved soon. He also called upon the government to clarify the benefits of those who recognize the indigenous people saying that they do not know that there is a community called Sayyid. Meanwhile, Ajmal visited the temple and took a dig at the fact that there was no need to react to MP Maulana Badruddin Ajmal.
The MP responded by visiting the erosion area on the banks of the Beki River in Karkarkur in Kalgasia on Thursday and interacting with reporters.
