An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck Myanmar at 3:52 a.m. on Friday. Several northeastern states, including Assam, Manipur, and Meghalaya, experienced tremors.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicentre of the earthquake was located at a depth of 140 kilometres, 162 kilometres northwest of Burma in Myanmar.
NCS tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude:5.2, Occurred on 30-09-2022, 03:52:37 IST, Lat: 23.09 & Long: 95.01, Depth: 140 Km ,Location: 162km NW of Burma, Myanmar”
However, no causality has been identified so far. The National Centre for Seismology said yesterday that an earthquake with a value of 4.5 on the Richter scale was registered 150 kilometres north of Diglipur in the Andaman and Nicobar islands.
