The Northeast Frontier Railway now operates an overseas ticketing counter at the Guwahati railway station.
The international ticket counter will assist passengers travelling on the Mitali Express 13131/13132 (New Jalpaiguri – Dhaka – New Jalpaiguri). The counter is located near the existing Guwahati booking office and will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on all working days.
The inauguration of the foreign counter at Guwahati railway station will help Assamese and neighbouring states such as Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Nagaland residents who wish to use Mitali Express services.
Previously, tickets for the Mitali express could only be purchased at the Kolkata and New Jalpaiguri stations. Passengers no longer need to travel all the way to New Jalpaiguri or Kolkata to book Mitali Express tickets. They can use the same service at the Guwahati train station.
The Mitali Express train, which connects India and Bangladesh, was inaugurated on June 1, 2022. New Jalpaiguri – Dhaka Cantonment Train No. 13132 Mitali Express departs New Jalpaiguri at 11:45 a.m. (IST) every Sunday and Wednesday, arriving in Dhaka Cantonment at 22:30 a.m. (BST).
