On Sunday, the Haflong Battalion of Assam Rifles honoured Hima Das at the NL Daulagupu stadium in Haflong, Assam’s Dima Hasao district.
On her visit to Dima Hasao for sports promotion, Assam Rifles had the honour of congratulating Arjuna Awardee Hima Das. The event was attended by 28 Dima Hasao schools, cabinet minister Nandita Garlosa, DC, and other district sports officials.
It was an opportunity for the Assam Rifles to promote sports that can help society and guide the youth, resulting in a comprehensive nation-building process.
Hima Das has carried the torch for her generation from the greatest athletes of the northeastern states and has established an image that future generations will strive to emulate. The initiative has helped to solidify the image of “The Sentinels of the North East.”
