On November 30, Commonwealth Games (CWG) gold medalist Nayanmoni Saikia will be presented with the Arjuna Award by India’s President.
The National Sports Awards 2022 were announced on Monday by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Every year, the award is given to recognise and reward sports excellence.
The Arjuna Award is given for outstanding performance in sports over the previous four years, as well as for demonstrating qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, and discipline.
The awardees will be presented with their awards by the President of India at a specially organised function at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 30 at 4 p.m.
The Central Government has decided to confer the Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2022 on table tennis star Achanta Sharath Kamal, Arjuna Awards to 25 sportspersons, Dronacharya Award to outstanding coaches, Lifetime Category award to three coaches, and Dhyan Chand Award for Lifetime Achievement in Sports and Games to four sportspersons based on the Committee’s recommendations and after due scrutiny.
