News Desk: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leaders Bitu Sonowal and Dhaijya Konwar have been infected with the COVID-19 virus. Both Bitu Sonowal and Dhaijya Konwar have been put behind bars along with Akhil Gogoi for their role in the Anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
The duo has been serving a sentence at Guwahati Central Jail. After their tests came positive on Wednesday night both were taken out. They were first sent to GMCH and then to Sonapur but due to the unavailability of beds in both the hospitals, they were then kept at a makeshift camp in Panbazar.
According to sources, Akhil Gogoi’s health is also not fine and his test result has not been declared yet.
