A Depressed lady reaches out to the Guwahati police and gets help before taking the extreme step

Over the past few years, the number of suicide cases seems seemingly increasing in Guwahati, Assam. The city recorded 373 suicide cases in 324days from January 1 to November 20, 2021. The Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Partha Sarathi Mahanta released this figure at a press conference held in the city on December 26.

While the high numbers are very worrying, on this Sunday, a lady who was going through a lot and was about to take the extreme step reached out to Guwahati police on Facebook Messenger.
The Guwahati Police took immediate action and now she is being offered proper professional help.Lastly, the Guwahati police in a tweet shared this story and sincerely urged the people to reach out to them if any assistance is required.
