The Court of the Session Judge, West Jaintia Hills District, B Khariam convicted and sentenced the National People’s Party’s (NPP) working president Nidamon Chullet to undergo imprisonment for the life on Wednesday, under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for his involving in a murder case 15 years back.
Chullet murdered one Ewanmi Lhuid in Jowai in February 2008 after a brawl between the two. It may also be mentioned that Chulley was also accused to be the main ‘mastermined’ behind the brutal murder attack on two social activists- Agnes Kharshiing and Amita Sangma at Tuber Sohshrieh Village on November 8, 2018.
It is also noted that Chullet is also the president of the Jaintia Hills Truck Owner’s Association (JHTOA).
