Vehicle with Explosives and Threat Letter Found Outside Mukesh Ambani’s Home

A suspicious vehicle with gelatin, an explosive material, was found parked near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s uhouse in Mumbai on the evening of February 25.

Apart from the 20 gelatin sticks, police recovered a blue bag with ‘Mumbai Indians’ inscribed on it which is Neeta Ambani’s IPL team. Police also recovered a letter which said, “Geeta Babhi and Mukesh Bhaiya, Be alert, this is just a trailer, we have made all arrangements to blow up the whole family. Good Night.”

The letter was written in English and bad handwritten which made difficult for the experts to track down the man who parked the car. However, Police said that they got to know from the CCTV footages that the Scorpio car came from the direction of Thane and even stopped at Haji Ali Junction for 10 minutes at around 12:20 am.

On details about the incident, the Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh stated:
The car, Black Scorpio, carrying explosives has been identified and it was parked with a fake number plate.
The car was stolen sometime back from Mumbai’s Vikroli area, Its chassis number, etc was damaged but police have retrieved its identity and the real owner has been identified
The suspect who parked the car at the site was seen in CCTV footage but is not yet identified due to his face mask and his head was also covered by a hoody
The police are conducting a technical and forensic analysis of the car used for carrying the explosives.
There were no recent threat calls or letters received by anyone with respect to Ambani Family in the recent past.
Police have gathered CCTV footage from multiple locations from where this car passed on Mumbai roads.
There was another white Innova car tailing that Scorpio car and police is investigating that car too.
The gelatin found in the car was not of military-grade gelatin but commercial-grade gelatine which is generally used in construction-related digging.
