Assam police have recently tightened its focus against drugs. They have declared a full-throttle war on drugs and related activities.
Police raided on January 12 and seized another large quantity of drugs and body parts of wild animals from Baba Hazarika’s house on the staircase of Bokajan.
Evidently, Baba Hazarika had built huge properties in Bokajan by illegally trading drugs. He had a long history of supplying drugs from the neighboring state of Nagaland.
The Bokajan police raided and seized the entire property of Baba Hazarika under the SAFEM (FOP) And NDPS ACTS in Kolkata after seizing drugs and wildlife parts.
The property is likely to be auctioned in time.
Director-General of Police (DGP) Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta has already tweeted his appreciation to Karbi Anglong police.
He wrote-
“In a first, probably in the country, we moved competent authority to freeze the illegally acquired properties by druglord Baba Hazarika of Karbi Anglong. The competent authority concurred. This was done after a financial investigation, very ably carried out by Karbi Anglong police.”
