Drug smuggling is one of the serious evils of our society. It is like the rust that has been rusting the very foundation of our society. Due to its exploitation, people, especially the youth, are constantly in danger. Therefore, the Assam Police has been in constant efforts to remove this evil from the state. They have been actively working every day to apprehend any individual or racket involved in drug-related illegal activity.
A WGPD team from Bharalumukh Police Station on 26th January arrested one Dipjyoti Kalita at Kalipur and one Jitu Das at Adingiri for drug, trafficking. A total of 54.77 gms of Heroin, 37 vials, Rs 25,200 cash, 2 mobile phones, 1 scooty, and 1 bike were recovered from their possession.
