Satyanshu Singh, a doctor by profession and filmmaker by profession, used his passion for movies to help people during the COVID-19 crisis of 2020. Two years later, his quiz show, Cinema Is Forever, inspires cinephiles around the country to do the same for Assam flood victims.
Today marks the third edition of the competition, which will be hosted by Venkatesh Srinivasan, CEO of Nexus Consulting. “This year, we decided to raise money to help flood victims in Assam.” Singh explains. The event’s revenues will benefit a primary healthcare NGO in the region.
The quiz will be divided into two rounds and will include world, Indian, and international movies. “Indians are inherently competitive, and that spirit of competition in a quiz appeals to everyone.” says Srinivasan. Aside from the satisfaction of donating to a worthy cause, winners are also eligible for an R20,000 incentive, according to Singh. It’s a win-win situation for cine-trivia enthusiasts.
The quiz will be held on august 20 around 4-7 pm. To contribute visit @cinema is forever on instagram page. For players the money amount is Rs 300 and for donors the amount is Rs 500 and up.
