Finance Minister Ajanta Neog today read out the budget for the financial year 2022-23 in the Assam Assembly. The Finance Minister also gave detailed information on the Pragyan Bharati Scheme in the Budget. Ajanta Neog also commented on what benefits will be provided under the scheme in the coming days.
Students will be provided assistance for the purchase of free textbooks and textbooks till graduation.
Hostel fees up to Rs. 2000 per month for graduate college, medical college, polytechnic college graduate, and post-graduate course students.
Admission fee is exempted for all students below the poverty line.
Education loan assistance will continue under the Abhinandan Scheme.
Scooters will be provided to all meritorious students who have passed in the first division in Higher Secondary Examinations.
A grant of Rs 10,000 per year as a transportation allowance to students studying in post-graduate courses.
The Anandram Baruah Award will continue for eligible students who have passed the High School Leaving Certificate examination.
Rs 410 crore is earmarked for Pragyan Bharati Scheme.
