News Desk: Popular Assamese Bollywood actor Adil Hussain was honored with the ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award at the Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival 2020. He was awarded for his incredible contribution to global cinemas. Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) along with Birmingham Indian Film Festival (BIFF) make up Europe’s largest Film Festival.
After the announcement, Adil Hussain tweeted, “Thank you @LoveLIFF London Indian Film Festival for honoring me with the “OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT” Award 2020. Means a lot.”
London Indian Film Festival has been administering independent films from the Indian subcontinent for over 10 years. This year, LIFF and BIFF joined forces to organize an online festival ‘Love LIFF at Home’.
Along with Adil Hussain, Vidya Balan and Freida Pinto were honored with the ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award. Actors Shabana Azmi and director Deepa Mehta were honored with the ‘Icon Award’.
The festival included several LGBTQ films, films from Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and including many others.
