The global COVID-19 pandemic has hit every person’s life. The film industry has also been affected seriously due to the pandemic. All productions and shooting came to a halt. Well, there is good news for all movie lovers. Some of the big-hitters are starting to re-commence production. Six big-budget production house has already resumed shooting.
Avatar 2:
Has anyone forgotten the original Avatar movie?? NO!!. Well, the long-awaited sequel to James Cameron’s 2009 Sci-fi blockbuster is able to re-start filming in almost Coronavirus free New Zealand this week.
James Cameron and producer Jon Landau told the press that shooting has already started, this will bring hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars back into the country.
Landau shared a photo on his Instagram earlier today as the production resumed. Along with original stars Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington, Avatar 2 will bring some big names like Vin Diesel and Kate Winslet. The film is to be released by December of 2021.
The Batman:
After Ben Affleck decided to hang up his cape, he is replaced by Robert Pattinson. Filming of ‘The Batman’ movie began in Glasgow. Pattinson will star opposite Zoe Kravitz. Zoe Kravitz will play the role of Batman’s complex love interest Catwoman. The movie is due to be released in October 2021.
The Little Mermaid:
Disney is always famous for making live-action remakes of classical animation. ‘The Little Mermaid’ starring Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy, had to cancel its filming plans just a week before it was due to start in March.
Bailey went home to isolation in Los Angeles. Even before the pandemic, the film never did a confirmed release date. According to sources, the release date of the live-action movie is in November 2021.
Mission Impossible 7:
Movie shoot for MI-7 started in late February in Italy. The shooting came to a halt because of the pandemic, later on, filming was moved back to the UK where the shooting was halted again.
First assistant director Tommy Gormley on a BBC Radio 4’s program told that they hope to resume shooting from September.
If shooting resumes from September, then the film is planned to be released in November 2021.
Elvis’ Biopic:
Elvis Presley’s biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann is expected to restart soon. Filming came to a halt after actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson were tested positive for COVID-19. Later, both actors recovered.
The biopic of Elvis is currently untitled where Tom Hanks will play the role of Presley’s tough manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Role of the legendary rock’n’roll king Elvis Aaron Presley will be done by Austin Butler. In a press conference Premier of Queensland, Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed on Wednesday that filming will commence soon. Hopefully, the long awaited movie will be on big screens by November 2021.
Jurassic World Dominion:
Jurassic World: Dominion is an upcoming American sci-fi adventure film directed by Colin Trevorrow. Jurassic World Dominion will be the first big production franchise to resume in the UK next month. Strict new safety protocols will be followed on the set during the shoot.
A total of $5 Mil will be spent on 150 hand sanitizer stations and on-site doctors in Pinewood Studios in London. Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are reportedly due to arrive back in London any day now, where they will have to self-isolate for two-weeks. The production house plans to release the movie by June 2021.
