Padma Shri Pratima Barua Pandey Memorial Award presented to Folk legend Khagen Gogoi

The award was presented to Khagen Gogoi by the All Assam Students Union in line with the 19th death anniversary of Goalparia folk song empress Padma Shri Pratima Barua Pandey at The Pratima Barua Pandey Statue in Sanmari in the city.

Accepting the award, Gogoi narrated the sweet memories he had spent with Pratima Pandey Baruah and thanked the All Assam Students Union for considering him eligible for the award.

Moreover, from 2007 to 2020, the awardees are Vimal Mali, Sitanath Rai, Tulsi Neog Oja, Phulkumari Kalita, Shukraacharya Rava, Dr° Anil Saikia, Muhibur Rahman, Jayasaran Bathari, Deepak Kumar Pam, Snehlata Das, Chandra Singh Kra, Shambhu Rava, Vinod Sanal, and Pavitra Rava respectively.
