News Desk: After the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, many Facebook posts went viral which claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a CBI inquiry to investigate the actor’s cause of death.
These Facebook posts are all false. India’s PM Narendra Modi has not given any such order to the CBI. Till now, there has been no official announcement of the transfer of the investigation to the CBI.
A graphic that features PM Modi and late actor’s images went viral on Facebook. The viral Facebook post with text in Bangla stated: “India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered a CBI inquiry to probe the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.”
Several unverified tales claiming that the actor was murdered also started circulating on social media platforms.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s MP Roopa Ganguly in her tweets and Instagram posts appealed for a CBI investigation for the cause of Sushant’s death.
The Mumbai Police is investigating the actor’s death, with 28 people including friends, family, and aides, having recorded their statements with the police so far. According to a report, Shekhar Kapur and film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali will also record their statements next week.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali will record his statement on July 6 after various allegations were made that Sushant was battling depressions since he was forced to drop out of Bhansali’s films.
Mumbai police also stated that there were no signs of any struggle before death and nothing was found in his nails.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abhishek Trimukhe on June 27 also stated that the police team has been investigating from every angle behind the actor’s suicide.
