News Desk: While the state is reeling under the fury of the flood, former ‘Awesome Assam’ ambassador Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas have donated towards the flood relief. The actor-singer couple through their social media handles has urged people worldwide to help Assam.
“Assam has been devastated by floods triggered by heavy monsoon showers affecting the lives of millions. The impact of the flood on life and property in Assam is unimaginable. They need our attention,” she wrote on her Twitter handle.
The actress expressed her concern over inundated Kaziranga National Park and said, “The rapidly rising water level has also flooded the Kaziranga National Park, one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. They need our attention and support.”
She further urges the world community to donate towards the relief measures and wrote, “I am sharing details of a few credible organisations that are doing some good groundwork in Assam, and Nick and I have donations to each.”

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), on Sunday, 23 districts out of 33 remain affected with the death toll rising to 103.
