It was done to depict the value and importance of theatre. On this day, ITI hosts a yearly message usually spoken by a chosen famous theatre performer.
They share their views about the art of theatre and its future.
In 1962, the first message was spoken by Jean Cocteau 1962.
This year the yearly message on World Theatre Day was given by Helen Mirren. Helen Mirren is one of the best-known and respected actresses with an international career on stage, screen, and television.
Greetings on #WorldTheatreDay to all theatre artists & enthusiasts. It is one of the oldest art forms that bring the reality of life on stage & connects with audiences in live performances. Let us appreciate and encourage Theatre, which has a transformational effect.
