The largest photography event of its kind, photographers for social change. This year documenting humanity worldwide in one single day to support Climate Action.
The 24HourProject gathers emerging photographers, aspiring photojournalists, and visual storytellers from every city around the world to share photos as they document humanity in real-time during twenty-four hours.
This year a team of photographers from Guwahati joined the event with the leadership of documentary photographer Hirokjyoti Pathak the event commenced on the 10th of September 2022.
The 24HourProject was co-founded by two photographers, Renzo Grande and Sam Smotherman, in 2012. The idea began with a personal project to document and compare two different cities for one full day. That same year, other photographers joined the first edition which gathered a total of 65 world photographers to document 24 cities. This year the project had around 3,925 photographers including 71 from Guwahati and 914 other cities around the world who took photographs to raise awareness and funds for the year’s theme of CLIMATE CHANGE.The global collaboration of the project has led to gallery exhibitions in Germany, Finland, Australia, Ecuador, Finland, Iran, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Poland, the United States, and Venezuela.
