Here’s what our research brings to the table:

  1. The so called “Millennial” and “Gen-Z” population of the country has started to adopt a lot of global culture in aspects like fashion/food/lifestyle and choice of entertainment, as a result of excessive exploitation mainly through social media and web based easy access multimedia like MUSIC, MOVIES etc, which have directly influenced them in their way of perceiving these culture and at the same time social media has created an unconscious feel of “FOMO- the fear of missing out”.

  1. The thoughtfully crafted cafes and restaurants have their share of this youth market by offering them a globally recognized image as they visit their franchises and get to interact with the same flavors of the menu and the overall visually appealing theme which the youth is already acquainted with from there social media feeds and have always wanted to feel the same but at the comfort of their home town.

However like everything else this influence of culture have also raised it’s own set of good and bad side of the story .

positives negatives
1.       The new generation is learning about new culture and are trying to acknowledge it The countless ways to explore these foreign culture have over exploited global culture in way that we are not focusing on our own cultural values in terms of lifestyle, clothing ,food etc.
2.       This emerging culture have brought a load of foreign investments in the country hence increasing our FDI. Due to the mass availability of globally known franchises the business of the homegrown caterers of our country has seen a deep decline in its sales, as they have already been tried and tested by the young population. hence effecting the GDP in a very negative approach.
3.       Since most of this passed on global lifestyle requires a lot of financial support in order to be maintained consistently , many of the youths have started to make a progress in the race of being financially stable and are encouraging others to be aware of there own finances so that they can enjoy this luxury culture . Most of the youths are approaching this expensive fancy lifestyle as a compulsory way of life which creates an insecurity among them leaving them with questions like “what if I can’t fit in this new generation of showoff?” forcing them to squeeze their pockets and even drag them into debt and risking their finances , just in order to fill their hashtags on social media.
