World Heart Day 2022: World Heart Day is celebrated annually to spread awareness about how people can prevent cardiac issues. Heart attacks or cardiac arrest have been increasing in the recent times with the changing environment and food habits. With the recent death of comedian Raju Srivastava, singer KK and many others it has highlighted the high fatality rate caused due to heart diseases. Around the world, cardiovascular diseases have been one of the major causes of mortality.

According to reports by National Library Medicine, India has one of the highest burdens of cardiovascular disease (CVD) worldwide. The annual number of deaths from CVD in India is projected to rise from 2.26 million (1990) to 4.77 million (2020). Coronary heart disease prevalence rates in India have been estimated over the past several decades and have ranged from 1.6% to 7.4% in rural populations and from 1% to 13.2% in urban populations.

Keeping the risks and rates in mind, health experts emphasizes on the need to aware people on various tips for a healthy heart and a great life.

  1. Physical Exercise: Regular physical activities will keep a person healthy, activities like walking, cycling, gyming, swimming etc will definitely keep a person healthy.
  2. Balance Diet: Consuming the right amount of food with right proportion is the main key in maintaining a healthy and long life. Include fiber rich food in your daily intake.
  3. Listen to music: Whatever music genre you prefer, but dancing makes for a great heart-healthy workout.
