Bhai Dooj is a festival that celebrates the bond between sisters and brothers. The festival is celebrated with much fervor like Raksha Bandhan. The sisters pray for the well-being and long life of their brothers while the latter promises to protect them. Bhai Dooj is also known as Bhaubeej, Bhai Tika, and Bhai Phota.
The festival is celebrated on the second lunar day of Shukla Paksha in the Vikram Samvat Hindu calendar. This year, it is being celebrated on November 16, 2020. Sisters perform aarti for their brother and treat them, brothers give their sisters gifts.
