News Desk: On June 26, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath will be announcing employment for One Crore people. By providing 1 Crore employment, Yogi Adityanath will be setting a new record.
Amid the ongoing pandemic, this announcement came as a ray of sunshine for Uttar Pradesh people.
The Uttar Pradesh government will become the first state of India to give employment to 1 Crore people at once. The migrants who returned home from various states will be the major beneficiaries.
Contributing over 50% of the total jobs, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS) is going to be the major contributor to the scheme.
Sanjay Dixit, the former member of the Union Government’s Central Employment Guarantee Council said that the Uttar Pradesh government has about 1.80 Crore of MNREGA job cardholders, out of which 85 Lakh is still active.
Besides the construction of rural roads, restoration of rivers and digging of ponds many other works have been carried out in the rural job scheme.
“We are roping in all many major departments to provide work in addition to jobs being provided under the MNREGS. The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department, Public Works department, Horticulture department and the agencies constructing the expressways will also contribute in a big way in the creation of more jobs,” The State Chief Secretary R.K. Tiwari said.
The National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) will give employment to about 1 Lakh labourers of the state at various real estate projects.
The real estate has already signed an initial pact with the U.P. government stating to provide employment to home returnee labourers in their various real estate projects.
It is to be noted that till last week 35 Lakh labourers had returned to various Uttar Pradesh.
