National News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday while paying his homage to the army personnel martyred in the violent face-off with Chinese troops in East Ladakh, said that “the Armed Forces have always shown extraordinary courage and earnestly protected India’s supremacy.
In a tweet by PM Modi, he said “Tributes to the martyrs who lost their lives protecting our nation in Eastern Ladakh. Their supreme sacrifice will never be forgotten”
Expressing his condolences to the families of the Army men martyred in the face-off, PM Modi said that the lionhearted sons of ours country have made the supreme sacrifice while protecting the motherland in Galwan Valley.
Earlier on Wednesday, on the second day of the virtual conference with Chief Ministers regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, PM Modi said that “The country would be proud that our soldiers died fighting.”
In the fierce clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley on Monday night, twenty Indian Army personnel including a Colonel were martyred. This clash between the two troops can be considered as the biggest military encounter in over five decades. Since the incident, tensions sparkled up on India-China Border in Eastern Ladakh’s Galwan Valley region.
