CAA Activist Receives Death Threat For Condemning PM Modi

News Desk: Hasina Ahmed, an Assam based activist stated on Saturday that she received phone calls from two unknown persons. Late in the evening on Saturday, two people threatened her with the dreadful outcome if she continues to condemn Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Hasina Ahmed is the Organizing Secretary of All Assam Minorities Students Union (AAMSU). She is a Law graduate and has also done her Master of Laws (International Law).

Hasina Ahmed has filed a complaint about the incident with the local police at Daulashal Police Outpost. In her complaint, she stated that on the evening of July 4, some unknown malefactor called her and used vulgar language. The miscreants also cautioned her that just like Lafikul Islam she would also have to face the same consequence if she continues to post anything condemnatory about the government on social media in the future.

On Saturday morning, Hasina posted on Facebook criticizing PM Modi’s recent visit to Ladakh.

The local police have registered an FIR in this matter under sections 294 (obscene act causing annoyance to others) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Bipul Saikia, in-charge of the police outpost confirmed the registration of the FIR against the two unknown people. He said that they are investigating the matter and the miscreants will be caught.
