National Desk: CBSE had earlier scheduled the remaining class 10 and 12 exams for July 1-15. But, the board on Thursday informed the Supreme Court that it is cancelling the pending exams.
However, the students would have the option to appear in examination if they wish. And for those who don’t want to appear, their performance in the last two examinations would be considered to grant them marks. This option although would only be available for the students of Class 12.
The Supreme Court in response to a plea from a group of parents, who asked for cancellation of the remaining board exam, had asked CBSE last week to consider scrapping the class 10 and Class 12 board exams in view of the growing corona virus cases in the country .
Meanwhile, ICSE board following the steps of CBSE has also cancelled 10th, 12th exams for now, and said that the decision on holding 12th exam in the future will be taken later.
The exams were earlier postponed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This has resulted in anxiety, worry and frustration among the students and parents.
