Class 10

News Desk: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the most awaited class 12 board results on Monday.

The pass percentage this year stands at 88.78% which is up by 5.38% from the previous year. The Thiruvananthapuram region recorded the highest pass percentage of 97.67%.  This is followed by Bengaluru and Chennai regions with 97.05 and 96.17 pass percentages respectively. Guwahati city recorded a pass percentage of 83.4%

Girls have outperformed boys this year with a pass percentage of 92.15. While the pass percentage for boys is 86.16%

However, the results this year were different from the previous ones due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a first, CBSE announced that it will not be releasing a merit list of students who have propelled in the exams this year. Usually, every year as the board results are declared, CBSE takes out a list of students who have topped the board and as well as region-wise toppers. However, with some canceled examinations and postponed results amid the Coronavirus pandemic, it looks like the board is not stressing over the merit list.

News agency ANI reported CBSE has confirmed the list of students who have topped the charts will not be released this time.
